Beezthingz was born after the discovery of varroa mite in the South Auckland area of the year 2000. This is when Kerry McCurdy realised it’s become a serious threat to our bees and as an attempt to rescue bees and as many bee colonies as possible, a beehive rental business started in Auckland. Income from the beehive rentals meant, Kerry was able to rescue and experiment with different methods to treat colonies and keep them healthy at the same time. With the support of many Aucklanders, today the business has grown to become the nations largest beehive rental business offering services in Auckland, Franklin, Waiheke Island, Hamilton, Tauranga, Taranaki, Wellington, Christchurch, and other regions as the need arises.
