The Park is a public sculpture initiated by artists Sarah Smuts-Kennedy and Taarati Taiaroa. It centres around six beehives introduced into Victoria Park in Autumn 2014. The Park is supported by the Waitemata Local Board through their new arts initiative Pop. Click here to visit the Project website.

BeezThingz was asked to supply and service the hives throughout the life of the project. We decided to go one better and came up with a whole new hive with this project at its core – Pollen Hotels. So we came up with theses awesome looking hives with green roofs to plant herbs and other bee friendly plants. It was a bit of a gamble but it seems they are even more of a success than we could have imagined!
We have some more exciting work in the pipeline and are always on the lookout for fun new places to put bees so if you have a great idea, let us know and we will see how we can work together. We can also do live bee demonstrations and public speaking events.
